You should remove it by unscrewing the brass hole stops from the threaded ends of the cable which is made with steel. Every end of the cable is running at the bottom of this part through the holes and replace one brass hole stops. One end of the thread runs through another hole of the tailpiece. After that it replaces one brass hole stops. Another end of the cable thread runs through the other hole of this part and it replaces the second hole stop.
